Serrano Production
Since its founding in 1977, Serrano has been making prosciutto, salami, and other products with a focus on additive-free, handmade products.
Our prosciutto is made without any additives or chemical seasonings, such as preservatives, antioxidants, or colorants, and is made only using raw salt extracted from seawater, which is rich in minerals such as magnesium and potassium, and domestic pork.
Serrano's prosciutto is made using locally raised brand pigs that are fed a diet supplemented with "local nutrients" made up of beech and oak sap, powdered mugwort, the digestive enzyme amylase, and seaweed extracts, and is carefully made over a period of at least 16 months, from shaping to salting, desalting, low-temperature aging, and natural aging. It has a robust flavor, with complex umami that melts in your mouth. This flavor cannot be achieved in a short period of time. It is precisely because it is carefully and thoroughly aged that it is a natural prosciutto grown in Japan that cannot be imitated by others.
Enjoy the pure flavor that goes perfectly with Mavi wines!
Unlike regular sliced ham, this ham is diced, so it's very satisfying to eat. The more you chew it, the more the flavor comes out... and you can't stop drinking wine → prosciutto → wine...
Enjoy it with a glass of red wine.
Ingredients: Domestic pork thigh, salt Contents: 30g
Water activity: less than 0.95 Storage method: Store at room temperature*
*The back label was created for supermarkets and says "Store below 10℃." However, it is a preserved food and has been aged slowly over time, so the water activity is low and it is perfectly fine to store it at room temperature. After opening, store in the refrigerator and consume as soon as possible.
Serrano's recommended way to eat it
Cut into small pieces and use in cooking (pasta, salads, sauteed mushrooms, etc.).
Cut into small pieces and serve on top of dried figs.
We recommend pairing this with "Penedès," a red wine from Spain, the birthplace of prosciutto.
Please order this item together with wine. Please do not order this item by itself.
Because it is made using authentic Spanish methods, it has a very unique aroma compared to domestically produced prosciutto. Please be careful if you are not used to it.
Due to expiration dates, we cannot accept delivery dates more than two weeks after the order date.
