Wine Selection

The organic wines sold at MAVIE are carefully selected after meeting and talking to each producer directly. Unlike the typical practice, they do not go through a négociant (wine merchant), so there is no chance of the wines of other producers being mixed in.
And they are all delicious, because they have been carefully selected by Japanese and French professionals from among the many organic wines on offer.

Tamura, who was stationed in Europe for 11 years as a marketing officer for a major food manufacturer, has tasted the cuisine of the finest chefs and countless wines, and he confidently selects his products while also taking into consideration the Japanese climate and tastes of the Japanese people.

He was stationed in Germany and France for a total of 10 years as a marketing manager for a major food manufacturer. During his stay, he encountered wonderful organic wine in Paris, and after returning to Japan, he founded Mavi Co., Ltd. in 1998.

His book "The Book of Organic Wine" (published by Shunjusha) won the Best Wine Book Award in the Japanese Book category at the Gourmand Cookbook Awards in 2004.

After working for the NPO Organic Association and organizing organic festivals, she now gives lectures around the country introducing the European style of "organic" as a lifestyle.

In 2007, he was awarded the Chevalier of the Order of Agricultural Merit by the French government. In 2019, he was appointed Bordeaux Wine Knight, Connetablier de Guyenne.

Mr. Gerard Boisseau-Deschouart

Gerard Boisseau (commonly known as Mr. Boisseau), a leading figure in the world of French food culture, is also sure to sample the wine. Mr. Boisseau has been in France for over 25 years, producing sommeliers and restaurant service professionals, and has frequently visited Japan as a judge for sommelier competitions. He is also an expert on the compatibility of Japanese food and wine.

With his keen eye for wine, there's no way that the wine won't be delicious.
