There must be many occasions where you can enjoy wine with pizza . However, there are not many strict guidelines on what to pair it with .
This is because, if you are looking for a casual, everyday wine to enjoy, " any wine goes well with pizza ."
For those who say, " I just can't decide ," Mavi staff will introduce some recommended combinations.

Vienna sausage bacon pizza
(With tomato sauce and cheese)
Pair with a slightly sparkling red wine (dry)
If you are concerned about the acidity of the tomato sauce and the tannins of the wine, we recommend a slightly sparkling red wine. This refreshing, dry, slightly sparkling wine softens the acidity of the tomato sauce thanks to the gentle bubbles that spread out and envelop the lovely fruitiness. If you are looking for a red wine with not too strong tannins, we also recommend Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Red .
Mandorlo Red Slightly sparkling
A red wine with aromas of strawberries, cherries, violets and spices, and a pleasant gentle foam that envelops the lovely fruitiness.
Salami Pizza
(With tomato sauce and cheese)
Pair with dry sparkling rose wine
The acidity of the tomato sauce and the mellow richness of the cheese are nicely combined with the fruitiness of the wine. The spicy nuances of this wine go perfectly with meats like salami. Even with a strong-flavored pizza, the strength of the fruitiness of the Mamzelle and the popping bubbles make for a pleasant taste.
Strawberry, pear, spices and mint aromas. A sparkling rose wine with a gorgeous burst of strawberry fruitiness that will instantly put you in a good mood with just one sip.
Genovese
(No tomato sauce, with cheese)
Pair with a rose wine from the south of France
Genovese pizza is characterized by its fresh mozzarella cheese and fragrant basil. The perfect match for this pizza is a beautiful, clear rosé from Provence, southern France. This rosé, which Mavi's CEO Tamura also enjoys on a regular basis, blends perfectly with the unique aroma of basil, creating a gorgeous impression. Not just with pesto, but with any type of pizza, this rosé will be enough to satisfy you. It's so delicious that you won't be able to stop having seconds.
This wine has a very well-balanced acidity and a pleasant fruity aroma of strawberries. It is a clean rosé wine without any impurities.
Cheese Pizza
(No tomato sauce, with cheese)
Pair with barrel-aged white wine
For a simple cheese pizza without tomato sauce, we recommend a barrel-aged white wine. The barrel aroma, reminiscent of vanilla and butter, spreads the complex flavor of the cheese in your mouth, leaving a long aftertaste. We especially recommend a wine from Piedmont, Italy. The tropical fruit aroma is combined with hearty flavors such as nuts, honey, and minerals, making for a very satisfying marriage.
Piedmont Sauvignon Blanc (barrel aged) White
A white wine with a gorgeous aroma of tropical fruits, honey and herbs. A powerful and rich attack. The flavor of fine nuts leaves a surprisingly long impression.
Marinara
(With tomato sauce, no cheese)
Pair with Beaujolais red wine
We recommend a light red wine with no off-flavors to pair with cheese-free tomato sauce. This Beaujolais wine has a beautiful acidity and a gentle, elegant astringency that makes it very smooth on the palate. Its pure, mineral flavor, which makes full use of the terroir of the granite fields, does not interfere with the taste of the pizza.
The acidity is well suited to the soft fruitiness. The minerality is impressive and the aftertaste is gentle and elegant.
Margherita
(With tomato sauce and cheese)
Pair with a fresh white wine
The basil and Gascony herb nuances of the Margherita are refreshing. This wine has a subtle tropical feel, a gentle sweetness from the fruit, and a refreshing taste that is not too strong, making it recommended for simple pizzas like Margherita. It also goes well with dry Chardonnay white wine .
A refreshing aroma of pear, white peach, herbs, and minerals. A light and refreshing white wine that is best enjoyed chilled.
