This precious organic brandy is made in the Cognac region in southwestern France using grapes grown on the estate, and is brewed and distilled entirely in-house. It is slowly aged in oak barrels for over six years, resulting in a mellow and rich flavor. It is perfect as an aperitif with soda or on the rocks, and also pairs well with chocolate and dried fruit.

Wine Details

Taste

Cognac is synonymous with high-quality brandy.
When you visit this region, you can visit several major manufacturers.

However, there are also some small organic distilleries that the general public may not be aware of.

Seguin's cognac is made by distilling brandy from organic white wine grown and brewed on his own farm, then slowly aging it in oak barrels for six years.

The minimum aging period for cognac is two years, so this is more than three times as long.

The Seguin family distills their wines on-site. It is very unusual for a winery to do everything from grape cultivation to distillation, as large manufacturers tend to buy grapes from all over Cognac and produce their wines in one place.

White wine is distilled using the double distillation method, and after distillation, it is aged in oak barrels. The aroma and flavor of vanilla is developed in the oak barrels. This cognac is bottled without any flavorings or additives, and is smooth and mellow. It is fragrant, and stands out from ordinary brandy.

Cognac is the perfect after-dinner drink to finish off a meal. It can also be enjoyed as an aperitif, mixed with soda water or on the rocks, where it brings a refreshing feeling.

About the Séguin family

The Vieux Souchot (Roland Seguin)

Organic since 1982

The Cognac region is located in the west of France, north of Bordeaux. It is located about 30 minutes north of the center by car, in a quiet, flat area surrounded by vineyards. The Séguin family has been farming for generations. The maritime climate from the Atlantic Ocean provides a mild climate throughout the year, allowing the grapes to grow without over-ripening. In 1982, they made the switch, thinking about the natural environment and their customers. The Séguin family's cognac is made from white wine made from organically grown grapes, distilled twice, and aged in oak barrels. They maintain a production method that does not use any flavorings, colorings, or additives, which makes it stand out from regular brandy. They also produce red and white wines, which are rare in the Cognac region.
