A bold, dry white wine made from Riesling, a noble variety in Alsace, which is famous for its white wines. It has a fruity aroma reminiscent of grapefruit, apples, and quince, as well as white flowers and herbs. It has a clean finish with a sense of strength. This organic wine goes well with cooked fish dishes, as well as pork dishes such as the Alsace local dish choucroute.

Food that goes well with wine

It goes well with a variety of dishes, but the best pairings are with seafood; choucroute (a local Alsatian dish of pickled cabbage, frankfurters, and bacon), and coq aux riesling (chicken stewed in riesling).

About the producers, the Meyer family

Domaine Eugene Meyer (Meyer family)

Organic history: Since 1969 (certified by Demeter in April 1980 and ECOCERT in 1991)

It is located in the village of Bergholz, in the southern part of the Alsace region. It is a historic wine farm that has been passed down from parent to child since 1620. Currently, the 13th generation, François, is in charge of everything from cultivation to brewing. The basin is surrounded by the Vosges Mountains and the Alps, and the temperature difference between winter and summer, as well as the low annual rainfall, produce high quality wine. The Meyer family switched to organic farming after the 12th generation, Eugène, fell into a serious condition where his optic nerve was paralyzed due to pesticide poisoning. After being cured by homeopathy at that time, he encountered Steiner's biodynamic farming and decided to switch in 1969. Having continued biodynamic farming for more than 50 years, the Meyer family's vineyards are full of lively energy. The Meyer family is known in France as a pioneer of biodynamic farming.
