This is a full-bodied red wine made from Barbera grapes grown on steeply sloping fields in Asti, close to the famous Italian wine region of Barolo. It has aromas of bitter chocolate, prunes and black tea, and a well-ripened fruit flavor. Despite its color, the tannins are fine, making it easy to drink and elegant. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, it is aged for 14 months in new French oak barrels, and then aged for 12 months after bottling before being shipped. This organic wine goes well with roasted meat and game, and you can feel its high class with just one sip.

About the Rovero family

ROVERO Fratelli (Rovero Family)

Organic history: Since 1985

It is located in San Marzanotto in the Piedmont region of northern Italy. Piedmont is a famous wine-producing region that competes for first and second place in all of Italy. The family has been a wine farmer for generations since 1880, and currently the winery is run by three brothers. The winemaking is mainly done by the eldest son, Enrico. The Mediterranean climate and the sunlight during the grape growing season, fruiting season, and late summer allow for well-ripened fruit to be harvested. In order to live and work in a place free of synthetic chemicals, and to overcome and protect my beautiful land, I converted in 1985. All the harvest is done by hand, and I think solar panels are fine for electricity. We make wine, but we change the fields and production methods for each wine to express the characteristics of each wine. There is accommodation and a restaurant within the winery, and all the ingredients served are organically grown on the premises.
