This red wine was made by the Moretti family, who make wines in the suburbs of Florence, focusing on local varieties. This wine is also made from 100% Punitello grapes, which can only be harvested from about four bunches per vine. It has a rich flavor, but also has berries, cherries, plums and minerals. It has a long lingering taste, and Moretti says it is an organic wine "for meditation."

About the Moretti family
Podere Casaccia (Moretti family)
Organic history: Since 2009
It is located in Scandicci, a small village about 30 minutes by car from Florence in Tuscany. The soil is 80-160m above sea level and is a mixture of 40% clay, 35% loam and 25% gravel. The Moretti family has been part-time farmers for generations, and the current head of the family, Roberto, works as a doctor three days a week and spends the remaining four days working on grapes. His wife Lucia joined in 2005, and at the same time, he became interested in biodynamic farming. After learning that biodynamic farming is deeply related to organic farming, he obtained certification in 2009. He wants to leave a better world for future generations, without further polluting the earth, by eating healthy and delicious food (they are almost self-sufficient in their food). In order to create a special wine with a unique character that no other wine has, he makes wine using only indigenous varieties. In most cases, each variety is vinified separately, and the wines are unfiltered and unclarified. We stopped using sulfur dioxide a few years ago.
