About the Chevran family
Domaine du Cret de Bine (Chevran family)
Organic history: Since 2008 (certified in 2010)
It is located in the hills at the southwestern edge of Beaujolais. The family has been making grapes for at least five generations, and has been a wine farmer since his grandfather's generation. The current owner, François, used to teach at an agricultural school, but took over when his predecessor retired. To the west are the Beaujolais mountains, which protect the grapes from the strong winds that are unique to this region. He met a friend who practices biodynamic farming, and was impressed by the wines he was producing, which were excellent in both quality and taste, so he decided to switch in 2008.
The Chevran family produces wines, including Beaujolais Nouveau, using traditional methods, which allows them to produce wines that reflect the terroir well.
