A high-class, extra sweet wine produced in the Sauternes region in the south of Bordeaux. It is a wine that you should enjoy slowly with a variety of drinks.

Wine Details

Taste

This wine was made by waiting patiently for the noble rot to naturally affect the grape bunches, and then selecting only the grapes that had the highest sugar content.

The golden liquid exudes an elegant aroma of butter, dried fruit, honey, and flowers, with a wonderful balance of aroma and flavor, followed by an enchanting, very long rhyme...

With noble wine rot, instead of the usual one bottle of wine that can be produced from one vine, only one glass can be produced.

Furthermore, cultivation is so thorough that one wrong step can result in the harvest of fruit, and it is a testament to the skill of the producers to be able to leave it to nature and produce it organically.

This is truly a wine for a luxurious time.

(According to producers, Sauternes can taste better if you wait a few days after opening it, and if you store it in the refrigerator using a wine storage device such as a vacubin after opening it , it will last for 15 to 30 days(*).)

*This may vary from day to day depending on the amount of wine and its condition.

Food that goes well with wine

Serve chilled as an aperitif or digestif. Also goes well with foie gras, sorbet, etc. (since it is sweet, you can eat it as is as a dessert), and blue cheese (with honey or, if you don't like blue cheese, with shredded butter).

About the Furcaud family

Château La Garenne (Fourcaud family) - Château La Garenne

Organic history: Since 1994

It is located in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux, one of the world's three major noble rot wine producing regions. Fog occurs from dusk to dawn. This fog causes noble rot bacteria to adhere to the surface of the grapes, and the moisture in the grapes evaporates in the sunlight during the day, turning them into noble rot grapes with a high sugar content. Sauternes wine is wine made exclusively from these noble rot grapes. Deciding to produce only organic Sauternes wine, in 2013 they took over the organic vineyards that had been run by the Ferbos family (*1) since 1994. They are a rare producer who produces Sauternes wine organically, even though there are years when noble rot grapes can be harvested and no wine can be made due to circumstances.
