This dry white wine is made using Grillo, a grape variety native to Sicily, Italy. You can enjoy the refreshing and mature aroma of lemon, pineapple, and orange peel. The taste is sour and lingers on the palate, with just the right amount of bitterness to tighten the overall flavor.

Wine Details

Taste

A transparent, shining gold color.

The aroma is subtle when poured, but when you swirl the glass the natural aroma of Grillo rises.

The refreshing citrus aroma of lemon is followed by the sweet aroma of pineapple and orange peel, which gives a sense of aging. In addition, the aroma of dried root vegetables such as kiriboshi daikon, which is derived from skin contact (※1) and sur lie (※2), gives the wine a unique character.

When you put it in your mouth, you will feel a gentle but strong acidity, which continues for a long time until the aftertaste. The pleasant bitterness and firm taste act as the body of the wine, and it is well balanced with the solid fruitiness and impressive acidity. It has a high alcohol content and a long aftertaste, and has a medium to full-bodied taste.

This is an attractive orange wine that makes the most of the characteristics of Grillo while leaving a lasting impression with its aroma and flavor.

About the producers, the Cucurullo family

Masseria del Feudo (Cucururo family)
Organic history: Since the 1990s

It is located on a hill 480m above sea level in the center of Sicily, Italy. It is a family-run winery centered around Carolina and Francesco. The two fell in love with wine and tried making wine experimentally with grapes that their father had grown for a major winery. The results were excellent, so the siblings established a winemaking system. Their father, Salvador, started organic farming more than 20 years ago, when consumers and major wineries had not yet paid any attention to it. Francesco, the son, took over the business quite naturally. They believe that organic is not only good for the environment, but also has to be of good quality. All the harvest is hand-picked, and grapes from different plots are brewed separately, and the type of wine to be made is decided based on the quality of each tank.
