This heavy red wine was made in a small village on the beautiful hills of San Gimignano, a World Heritage Site in Tuscany, Italy. It is made from 100% Sangiovese. It has a firm and complex flavor, and takes a while to open up, so it is recommended to transfer it to a carafe a few days before drinking. You can enjoy the complex flavors of black fruits, vanilla, and spices, as well as the long aftertaste, making it a great wine that rivals both grands and vins.

Wine Details

Taste

The deep ruby color is so deep you can't see the bottom of the glass, and it's a color that promises further aging.

Immediately after uncorking, the aroma is one of complexity and concentration.

As time passes, the aroma opens up, revealing ripe black fruits such as blackcurrant, black cherry, and blackberry, along with hints of vanilla, licorice, cloves, and a variety of spices such as crushed pepper.

The taste is dry, with firm fruitiness and tannins, and a well-balanced acidity. The alcohol content is over 14%, making it a full-bodied wine that is easy to drink. You can enjoy the complex flavors, such as the fruity black fruit, the aroma of spices such as vanilla, licorice, and cloves from the barrels, and the leather-like nuances from aging.

It has a long aftertaste and a powerful and elegant finish that rivals Grand Vin.

About the Magnoni family

Fattoria Majnoni Guicciardini (Magnoni family)
Organic history: Since 2000 (certified in 2007)

It is located in Vico d'Elsa, halfway between the big city of Florence and the world heritage site of Siena. The area has a multi-layered structure consisting of white and gray clay, which is typical of the region, and reddish yellow sandstone, which originates from the area being the bottom of the sea in ancient times. The grapes grown on the clay-dominated soil give the wine complexity and a strong structure, while the grapes grown on the sandstone-dominated soil give the wine a light and aromatic taste. The Magnoni family purchased this land in 1870 and have been inherited for generations. They were searching for a way to present their wine, and they arrived at organic farming. By practicing organic farming, they feel a connection with the people who have been working on this land for centuries, and they feel that they can have a better relationship with their employees and customers without relying on industrial methods. Pietro, the owner of the family, ideally wants a wine that is elegant, well-structured, not too heavy, and easy to drink.
